Fact

With an impending deadline of summer vacation for these students, we used a lot of planning & preparation so we could load-in, setup, film these interviews, tear down, and load-out in the only 2 hour time slot we had available! Plus, we were able to use COVID risk mitigation to keep everyone safe at the same time!

Video Production Description

As part of the 2021 Boulder County Juneteenth Virtual Event that Modern Icon Media produced, we had the opportunity to highlight local Black Student Alliance members and their projects. A large focus of the 2021 event was on Black youth and “what freedom means to me”, so we went into these conversations with the goal of learning about their community service projects through a lens of how freedom allowed them to give back to the community in ways they saw necessary. The second part was to directly ask these incredible students what freedom meant to them personally, as part of a thread woven throughout the full Juneteenth virtual event.

The BSA students were also presented with an award from ECAACE for their achievements and community leadership.
